Thatโ€™s Not My Name

Something Iโ€™ve experienced personally, where I repeatedly corrected my mispelled/autocorrected name ๐Ÿ˜•

Problem:

Writing your own name should be the simplest form of self-expression, but it can become a source of frustration. Often, devices treat uncommon names as errors rather than one of the most fundamental markers of who we are.

Insight:

Research shows that our brains light up when we hear our own name. But when that name is mispronounced or misspelled, the impact is the opposite, leaving people feeling unseen, isolated, and disconnected.

Idea:

Apple invites people worldwide to submit their names into a โ€œName Bankโ€ through a simple web form.

Every submission contributes to a database that improves predictive text and autocorrect for everyone.
